Pipe beveling machine Type MF3i

The MF3i is designed for the preparation of pipe ends, i.e. preparing of edges at individual pipe or membrane walls. It is used for steam bloc vessels to process pipe walls, to cut pipes or to chamfer welds. The machine can optionally be equipped with a compressed air an electric motor.

Besides the conventional design in which the motor and the milling spindle are arranged in line, the unit can be featured with an angular drive on request. The clamping and feed device is available in different versions. Controlling the feed through a star handle, the clamping device can be operated by lever or ratchet. An additional version is available to control the feed and clamping device by a replaceable ratchet.

Machine operation
The Model MF3i is driven with a pneumatic or electrical motor. The air supply of the pneumatic drive is done with a safety-turning valve, to operate the motor. By throttling the air supply, the motor speed can be controlled. The electric drive is designed for a connection voltage of 230V/120V.

A hand wheel can adjust the desired speed continously. The MF3i is fixed in the pipe through self-centering sleeves with exchangeable clamping jaws that act on the ID. The sleeve is operated with a star wheel or a ratchet on the back of the machine.  The feed of the milling spindle works manually. The two existing possibilities are either a star handle or a ratchet on the back of the machine.

Tools
Several tools that can be used are HSS tool bits or inserts with insert holder, which are clamped in a tool holder adapted to the processing diameter. To cover the whole clamping area with a pipe ID from 0,984-5,984" internal pipe diameter two clamping sleeves are available, which can be both combined with different clamping jaws. Depending on the feed device the clapms have different lengths, but are used with the same clamping jaw. Each complete sleeve consists of a sleeve, a front tension rod and a rear tension rod.
