Portable heavy duty clamshell for cold pipe cutting of heavy wall with high wall-thickness


The portable clamshell pipe cold cutting system has been developed in cooperation with European Offshore industry. A high metal removal rate, a large adjustment range and an easy setup is given with these outperforming clamshells. The portable pipe cutter avoids any heat affected zone (haz). Specially designed for heavy wall pipes with high wall-thickness in heavy duty applications. Their high working speed and quick readiness for use allow economic manufacture.

DLW

Portable pipe cutters for the machining of pipes on-site, are versatile in application and can perform many operations. The portable cutters are versatile in application and can perform numerous operations like

  • radial severing of pipes
  • simultanious cutting and beveling 
  • pipe end forming before weld preparation 
  • inside-turning of pipe ends
  • flange facing for repair of flanges on-site

The application range of the machines is from 76 mm - 914 mm O.D. and for wall thickness up to 100 mm. The split construction type cutters can readily mounted on assembled streches of pipes. Special applications like remote control are available.

All machine parts are done with metric screws, this reduces need of special tools on site, automatic feed mechanism allows a stable and constand work progress. Different drives, like pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical drives, are possible options.
